B&B Italia was founded in 1966 by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli and is now one of the most influential brands in international furniture design. From the very beginning, the company pursued an approach that closely linked industrial production, research, and design.

A crucial component of this development was the early engagement with innovative technologies and materials. B&B Italia was one of the first companies to deliberately use industrial processes to realize new forms and constructions with high quality.

This resulted in a collection characterized by technical precision, design clarity, and consistent evolution. The brand's significance in the international design context is also evident in numerous awards:

Research, Material, and Design Development

At the heart of B&B Italia is a continuous innovation process. In collaboration with international designers such as Mario Bellini and Antonio Citterio, furniture is created that not only impresses in style and design, but also demonstrates innovative advancements in construction.

An important milestone was the development of new processes in upholstery technology. The use of cold-formed polyurethane allowed for new freedom in shaping and continues to influence many of the brand's designs today.

This connection between technology and design is also evident in the choice of materials. Fabrics, leather, and structural elements are precisely used and determine the effect of the furniture in the room.

The Camaleonda sofa is one of the brand's most famous designs. This iconic sofa, originally designed by Mario Bellini in 1970, has been re-released due to its enduring popularity and is now once again part of the collection. Its modular system allows for flexible configurations and exemplifies the innovative approach to upholstered furniture.

The Dambo and Dambo Due sofas also feature a generous, comfort-oriented design language combined with clear lines.

The Tufty-Time sofa sets a different accent, working with a striking, graphic structure that more strongly defines the room in which it stands.

The selection is complemented by the Flair O’ chair and the Allure O’ table, which embrace a softer, more flowing design language, as well as the Lemante coffee table, which acts as a connecting element.
