Maxalto – Italian Precision and Elegance at Herrendorf

Maxalto presents itself as a "Made in Italy" brand that has consciously resisted fast-paced trends since its founding in 1975. Initially part of B&B Italia, Maxalto soon developed its own identity in the specialized production of handcrafted furniture. The focus has always been on striving for the highest quality standards in terms of materials and workmanship. This is already evident in the choice of name, as "Maxalto" is actually derived from the terms "massa alto" from the Venetian dialect, which means "the highest".

The designs draw on familiar proportions and classic typologies, but then translate them into a precise, contemporary form.

The brand was initially shaped by Afra Scarpa and Tobia Scarpa (1975 – 1992), and later (since 1993) primarily by Antonio Citterio, who still defines the design direction today.

With Maxalto, the material is always the focus.

Wood, leather, and textile surfaces define the effect of the furniture, not as decoration, but as a supporting element. The combination of craftsmanship and industrial precision remains consistently palpable.

The brand's products have never followed the latest trends, but instead offer a wealth of possibilities for comfort, sociability, and enhance the home as a private, domestic space with a social dimension.

In the Herrendorf showroom, we present some selected pieces that reflect the philosophy of Maxalto.
