The Capitol Complex Armchair by Cassina is a tribute to the Swiss architect and furniture designer Pierre Jeanneret. The design originated in 1960 when Jeanneret, together with his famous cousin Le Corbusier, supervised numerous projects in the Indian city of Chandigarh. Le Corbusier's Capitol Complex government building was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016. Pierre Jeanneret was instrumental in the interior design and especially the chair design. A special compositional scheme, which can be found in other furniture pieces from the Capitol Complex family, is the "V"-shaped support.
