The CIVIL BENCH bench from Cassina is a tribute to the Swiss architect and furniture designer Pierre Jeanneret. The design originated between 1958 and 1959 when Jeanneret, together with his famous cousin Le Corbusier, supervised numerous projects in the Indian city of Chandigarh. Pierre Jeanneret was instrumental in the interior design and especially the chair design. A special compositional scheme, which is found in other furnishings from the Chandigarh period, is the "V"-shaped support.

The Cassina CIVIL BENCH bench combines a frame made of solid teak with a seat made of Spanish cane. A seat cushion with a fabric or leather cover can be selected on request. The seat cushion is filled with down and measures 45 x 45 cm for one seat and 133 x 45 cm for three seats.
