French architect Bertrand Balas, born in Toulouse in 1935, loves watching the sunset over the Garonne River. Influenced by this daily spectacle, he created the Here Comes The Sun pendant lamp in 1969, which was released in 1970. At first glance, this round lamp appears like all the other lamps. But something magical happens with this lamp when it is lit. Depending on your mood, the impression of a sunrise, sunshine or moonlight is created.
DCW could have called the lamp the Sweet Light, but Balas wanted to call the lamp Here Comes The Sun back in 1970 - but the Beatles were a bit quicker. Just a few days before the lamp was presented, the Beatles released the famous song "Here Comes The Sun". The French architect then changed the name of the lamp at short notice because he feared consequences.
