Undoubtedly, the Bubble Lamps developed by George Nelson for Herman Miller have achieved considerable worldwide fame. In Europe, they are now distributed by the Danish brand HAY. The collection includes various lamps with rounded contours that immerse their surroundings in a pleasant, even light. Among the most famous models is the George Nelson Saucer Bubble Pendant Lamp, which, with its gently flowing lines, resembles a UFO. George Nelson conceived the Bubble Lamp series after discovering Swedish pendant lamps. He experimented with innovative materials and replaced the classic fabric covering with an innovative plastic membrane.
