Fascinated by the natural, soft light of the moon, renowned Italian lighting artist Gino Sarfatti designed the impressive Le Sfere collection. This iconic series, out of production since the 1970s, is now experiencing a modern renaissance thanks to the manufacturer Astep. The Model 2042/6 ceiling light combines elegant design with high-quality craftsmanship: Several spheres of blown opal glass emit a soft, diffused light, held and accentuated by a matte black, lacquered aluminum ring. This interplay ensures balanced light distribution throughout the room while adding stylish, timeless accents to any interior. With this reissue, Astep combines classic aesthetics with modern manufacturing techniques to delight both design enthusiasts and discerning interior designers.

The Le Sfere model 2042/6 consists of 6 glass balls with black aluminum rings. Each glass ball has a diameter of 20 cm.

Design Gino Sarfatti

Gino Sarfatti (1912–1985) was an Italian designer and lighting designer, considered one of the pioneers of modern lamp design. He founded the company Arteluce in 1939, which became known for its innovative and functional lighting solutions. Sarfatti combined technical expertise with aesthetic flair and created numerous iconic lamps, often made of materials such as metal, glass, and plastic.

Gino Sarfatti designed numerous iconic lamps throughout his career that are still treasured today. Sarfatti's lamps can often be found in modern design museums as well as in many private collections. His work has not only influenced lighting technology but also expanded the general understanding of space and light in architecture and interior design.
