The Astep Le Sfere Model 237/1 wall light in black is a masterpiece by Italian lighting artist Gino Sarfatti, inspired by the mesmerizing light of the moon. Sarfatti first designed the Le Sfere collection in the 1950s, but after a production hiatus since the 1970s, it is now experiencing a renaissance thanks to the manufacturer Astep. Characteristic of this series are the spherical lighting elements made of mouth-blown opal glass, which create a diffused, soft light and are supported by a precisely manufactured, painted aluminum ring. The interplay of high-quality material and puristic design gives the wall light not only an aesthetic lightness but also optimal light diffusion without glare. The Le Sfere model 237/1 consists of a glass ball with a black aluminum ring and has a diameter of 14 cm. Other versions, with a champagne-colored aluminum ring or with 2 balls, can also be found in our shop.

Design Gino Sarfatti

Gino Sarfatti (1912–1985) was an Italian designer and lighting designer, considered one of the pioneers of modern lamp design. He founded the company Arteluce in 1939, which became known for its innovative and functional lighting solutions. Sarfatti combined technical expertise with aesthetic flair and created numerous iconic lamps, often made of materials such as metal, glass, and plastic.

Gino Sarfatti designed numerous iconic lamps throughout his career that are still treasured today. Sarfatti's lamps can often be found in modern design museums as well as in many private collections. His work has not only influenced lighting technology but also expanded the general understanding of space and light in architecture and interior design.
