The diffuser of the lamp consists of two connected, opal "plates" held by a black cable. In 2016, the lamp was re-launched by the manufacturer Astep, with a new version in which the upper plate has a black soft-touch coating.

Design Gino Sarfatti

Gino Sarfatti (1912–1985) was an Italian designer and lighting designer, considered one of the pioneers of modern lamp design. He founded the company Arteluce in 1939, which became known for its innovative and functional lighting solutions. Sarfatti combined technical expertise with aesthetic flair and created numerous iconic lamps, often made of materials such as metal, glass, and plastic.

Gino Sarfatti designed numerous iconic lamps throughout his career that are still treasured today. Sarfatti's lamps can often be found in modern design museums as well as in many private collections. His work has not only influenced lighting technology but also expanded the general understanding of space and light in architecture and interior design.
