This stool was named after Charlotte Perriand's chalet in Méribel, France, where the artist worked for some time as an architect and shaped the townscape. She designed the stool in 1953. Charlotte Perriand also designed another, lower stool - Tabouret Berger - which together with the Tabouret Méribel creates a harmonious image.
