Viewed from above, they resemble islands. Tuscan alabaster from the Volterra area was already used in antiquity in Etruria in early Christian basilicas instead of glass. Later, it was discovered by Florentine sculptors and artisans who preferred it for creating precious decorative objects, but in the Middle Ages, it fell almost completely into oblivion and was then rediscovered by the artists of the Renaissance.

By combining several tables of different heights, larger surfaces can be created. In addition to natural white, the tables are also available in black, malachite green, amber, Pompeii red, lapis lazuli blue, carnelian, and gold. The colours emphasize the veins and the ever-changing facets of the alabaster, making each of these tables unique. Technical description: Coffee table tops made of alabaster and conical metal base.
