By founding the design company Astep , Alessandro Sarfatti continues the family tradition. He secured the rights to his grandfather Gino Sarfatti's famous designs, with the goal of combining timeless design with the latest technology. His first project was a reissue of the 2065 pendant lamp from 1951, a Sarfatti design that was one of the first to use polymer plastic as a material for lighting fixtures. Alessandro Sarfatti's optimistic and future-oriented approach to Astep's projects continues the innovative lighting dynasty in the third generation.
