Zanat Ombra Coffee Table | Maple Black

The Ombra coffee table from Zanat is a unique piece of furniture composed of tiny "Penrose prototiles" made of solid maple wood. These aperiodically arranged prototiles are named after the British mathematician Sir Roger Penrose. They have remarkable geometric and visual properties. Designer Jasna Mujkic has cleverly arranged the prototiles, creating an abstract pattern on the tabletop that resembles the shadow of a tree. The table is manufactured with sustainability in mind, using wood scraps that would otherwise not be utilized.
